Resistant to impact, sunlight, and weather conditions
Crates for beer and other beverages are exposed to the harshest conditions: they are constantly in transport, in changing temperatures, prone to impacts, and unsheltered from sunlight. That’s why it is extremely important to make sure that their labels are durable and long-lasting, so that the branding remains recognisable. At IML net d.o.o., we have developed the finest premium long-life labels designed particularly to withstand the harshest conditions in transport industry.
In-Mould Labelling: a label for every challenge
The In-Mould Labelling (IML) technology enables the label to become an integral part of the crate during the manufacturing process. Instead of adhesion, melted plastics are blended with the label, ensuring that it stays resistant to scratches, cracking, high temperatures and outdoor exposure.
We use carefully selected materials to manufacture our premium long-life labels, which give them their exceptional durability. All labels are laminated or protected by a resistant varnish. We pay special attention to UV protection, which can be directly integrated into the structure of the label and added as a surface coat. This ensures that the colours stay vibrant and preserved even after long-term sun exposure.
Our products are tested and compliant with high industry standards, such as STLB: 2010-11 and DIN EN ISO 4892-2, demonstrating their extraordinary quality and durability.
All you need to know about IML household labels (Q&A)
How do IML labels perform under extreme transport conditions?
IML labels for crates are designed to be extremely resistant to impacts, abrasions, high and low temperatures, and moisture. As they are fully integrated into the plastic packaging, they cannot peel off. Still, just like car paint – they can withstand a lot, but they are not indestructible. Labels can take minor damage if they are exposed to extreme physical stress. Despite this, their extraordinary durability ensures that the branding stays recognisable and visible throughout the crate’s life cycle.
Why is UV protection important for crate labels?
Crates are often exposed to sunlight on conveyor belts, in outdoor storage facilities or during delivery operations. UV protection makes sure that the colours on the label stay vibrant, which is crucial for maintaining the brand’s visual identity.
Are IML labels a cost-effective solution for crates?
Yes, IML technology is cost-effective, especially in mass production. By combining the processes of forming and labelling the product, overall costs are reduced, and the need for subsequent labelling and repairing of damaged labels is eliminated.
